In early August of 2009, I was getting ready for a week's vacation on Long Beach Island, NJ. I was excited to be at the shore but not that excited about my tired summer wardrobe. I think I was wearing the same capri jeans and maybe three different tops the whole month of July! Anyway, Tara took me shopping and I walked away with much more than just a few "going out" summer outfits. She picked out things for me that I'd never have picked out for myself. For example, she chose a maxi-dress for me to try on and it looked amazing on me. I couldn't believe it! Most importantly, she helped me with ACCESSORIES. I'm the worst at mixing and matching fun jewelry. I usually wear the same bracelet, necklace and silver hoops ALL spring and summer?! I followed her advice and ended up with so many compliments on those nights we were out on vacation. That makes it ALL worth it!!!

Tara has taught me so many useful fashion & style tips over the years, for example, "pack outfits, not clothes", and.....well I can't give anymore away, so you'll just have to hire her and find out yourself! Tara is the Queen of accesorizing, but she knows what works for everyone individually. I would recommend Tara for any fashion or style needs you may have-- everyday/work wardrobe advice, special occassions, seasonal closet purging & updating, etc.! Anyone could benefit greatly from her natural sense for style.

At first, I was afraid, I was petrified....I was going to actually let someone in my closet....let someone be a true witness to my insanity...I know it was time-especially because I am moving in a month. And even though I will have much more room in my new home, there was no reason to take along items that were never going to be worn, were out of style, did not fit, etc. So I let the purge and transformation begin!!
Tara is someone I trust. I knew she wouldn't judge me and that I would be comfortable with everything she asked of me. I knew going into this that what I was going to come out with was physically less but mentally more. We went through bins of summer clothes I never got to (or were hidden) this past season, sweaters that I know I shouldn't be wearing next season, and shelves of miscellaneous items that were simply outdated. I tried on everything...and looked to her for a reaction, a smile, a nod, for her to tell me SHE agreed with some of the things I loved and that they should stay in my closet. We talked about specific outfits that made me feel good and why. She was honest, sincere, gentle and understanding....as hard as it was to part with things that I had spent a decent amount of money on in the past-she helped me gain clarity about quantity vs. quality, duplication, and the importance of adding more color into my wardrobe. One of the best things that has happened is that now-I can actually see what is in my closet and what all of my options are!! I couldn't believe that at the end of our day, we had approximately 6-8 bags of clothes that I am now happy to donate to charity. These clothes are in very good condition, in fact many still have tags on them...I'm sure that wherever they end up, it will make someone happy.
